New PAN, correction or reprint?
Before filling a PAN form, identify what you need. Choosing the wrong request type can cause avoidable delays or duplicate work.
1. You have never been allotted a PAN
Check whether you qualify for the Income Tax Department’s Instant e-PAN service. It is an official online option for eligible applicants; the Department’s current FAQ explains who can use it and what details must match. If that route does not apply to your case, use the current new-PAN instructions linked from the Department’s official portal.
2. You already have a PAN but a detail is wrong
Use the correction or change-request route for the existing PAN. Check the current form, choose only the fields that need correction and prepare the evidence the official provider requests for those fields. Do not start a first-time application just to fix a spelling, address or other existing detail.
3. Your card is lost or damaged
Check the official reprint instructions for a replacement card linked to your existing PAN. A reprint is different from requesting a new PAN number. Follow the current identity-verification and delivery steps shown on the official service site.
Before you submit
- Compare your name and date of birth with the proof documents you plan to use.
- Use the official service page to confirm current forms, acceptable documents, charges and delivery options.
- Save the acknowledgement number and use the official status tool for updates.
- Keep the government or provider charge distinct from any optional assistance fee charged by a private centre.
G1Seva can provide application assistance for selected PAN services. The Income Tax Department or its authorised PAN-service channel controls allotment, correction processing and final status. We cannot guarantee approval or timing.
