Aadhaar update: choose the right route

The right process depends on which Aadhaar detail needs attention. Check UIDAI’s current options first; online availability, proof rules and charges can change.

Start by naming the exact change

Write down whether you need an address or document update, a name or date-of-birth correction, a mobile-number change, or a biometric update. These are different requests and may use different channels. Do not rely on an old checklist or a third-party page for the current permitted method.

Check whether UIDAI offers your request online

Open the official myAadhaar portal or UIDAI’s Aadhaar update information. UIDAI identifies which update types are available online and what proof is accepted. Some requests or cases require a visit to an authorised Aadhaar enrolment and update centre. Use UIDAI’s official website to find an authorised location if the instructions direct you there.

Prepare the supporting information

  • Use the exact spelling and details shown on the proof document you will submit.
  • Check that the document is in UIDAI’s current accepted list for that type of update.
  • Make sure you can access the registered mobile number if the selected process uses OTP authentication.
  • Keep the acknowledgement or service request number after submission so you can check the status through UIDAI.

Never send an OTP, Aadhaar PIN or account password to someone who calls or messages you. If you use assisted help, stay present while authentication takes place and submit only the information needed for your request.

What an assisted centre can and cannot decide

A private service centre may help you understand the online form, organise documents or follow the request. It is not UIDAI and cannot approve an update, change UIDAI’s proof rules, or promise an outcome or completion date. Confirm any centre assistance fee separately from charges shown by UIDAI.

G1Seva is a private assisted service centre in Bidar, not a government portal. This guide is general information, not an eligibility decision. Please check UIDAI for the rules that apply to your case.
